The incumbent governor of Sokoto State,Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has announced his decision to stepdown his Presidential Contest at the PDP Primary election and declared support for Atiku Abubakar, former vice president
Tambuwal who made the announcement at the venue of the PDP Primary election going on at MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja said the decision was in the best interest of the country having consulted his supporters, relatives and other associates and concluded to stepdown for Atiku Abubakar
Earlier, Muhammad Hayatuddeen announced his decision to stepdown and also declared support for Atiku.
Atiku is facing fierce opposition in former senate president, Abubakar Saraki.
The election is ongoing as at the time of this report.
