National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) as described as irresponsible and misplacement of priority Ogun state governor’s gift to the winner of the BB Naija show, Olamilekan Moshood Agbelesebioba, popularly known as LAYCON.
Abiodun had on Tuesday during Laycon’s visit to Abeokuta appointed him as the Youth Ambassador and gifted him a three-bedroom bungalow and N5million
Laycon who is an indigene of Ogun state state won the N85 million grand prize of the BBNaija show.
Reacting to the development (NANS), in a statement issued by its chairman, Bamgbose Tomiwa faulted the governor’s gestures.
The body said the students of Tai Solarin University of Education under The Umbrella of ENACTUS, that won a global competition that had 128 teams from about 120 countries as participants, were more deserving of the governor’s gesture.
“If we are to break it down conservatively, a 3-bedroom apartment will cost N25m. If such money had been judiciously used as expected of a responsible government, it would have refurbished at least two primary health centres in the State,” the students body said.
