The Kano state government has approved the re-opening of public and private schools in the state.
The commissioner for education Alhaji Mohammad sanusi kiru stated this while briefing journalists in Kano.
He said the re-opening of the schools commenced from eleventh of October 2020.
The commissioner explained that the resumption was categorized into different batches.
On Sunday 11 October primary six pupils from public schools and primary five pupils from private schools would resume to schools ,while primary 1 and 2 pupils would be attending schools only on Monday and Tuesdays,while pupils of primary 3 and 4 and 5 would be attending schools on Thursdays and Fridays only with effect from 12 October 2020.
Mohammad sanusi kiru maintained that Jss1 and SS1 students are to stay at home for another five weeks,
He explained that JSS 3,JSS 2 and SS 2 students are to resume fully to enable them prepare for the forthcoming transitional and qualifying Examinations.
The commissioner noted that all 15 Government owned Tsangaya schools are to resume fully with effect from 11 October 2020,while islamiyya schools that are duly registered with Kano state quranic and islamiyya schools board are to reopen with effect from 12 October 2020.
He warned propriators of islamiyya schools not to collect money from parents in the name of providing face masks,hand washing and other PPE,S , as government would cater for all needed PPE,s to all registered islammiya schools.
Mohammad sanusi kiru added that Kano state government would take full responsibility for the fumigation and provision of personal protective Equipments to the staff and students of all the eight thousand five hundred and eighty two public and private schools in the state.
