The Speaker, Kwara House of Assembly, Hon. Yakubu Danladi has been rumoured to have sacked his media aide Ibrahim Sheriff Gold for his alleged role in the disruption of the APC stakeholders’ meeting held in Ilorin, Wednesday.

Sheriff Gold, a popular member of the Lukman Mustapha media crew who does not hide his disdain for the Abdulrasaq administration was sacked last night after a video footage emerged of his involvement in the violent disruption of the meeting.

“Sheriff has been sacked because he was seen in the video as one of the people who disrupted the meeting. His principal is worried that he could take part in such a disloyal act despite previous warnings to steer clear of the party issues,” a source in the House of Assembly said.

“Sheriff has repeatedly gone against the rules of staying out of the crisis. He has been caught many times organising anti-government activities even when he is the spokesman of the Speaker. His cup became filled yesterday with his involvement in the violence that trailed the stakeholders meeting in which he was seen as one of those behind it.

Sources say Sheriff, a loyalist of Lookman Mustapha has been using his links in the government to help those working against the same government.

“At least he ought to have honorably resigned if he knows he cannot conduct himself within ethical terms of his job as a media aide of the Speaker, the source added.
