“Continuity in governance is the best way to speed up development and curb waste of resources”.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state stated this when the Nigerian Union of journalists, NUJ Zone D presented him an award as Champion of Continuity in lafia, the State Capital.
He said the award as the Champion of continuity was influenced by his commitment to continue the completion of projects initiated by his predecessor, Almakura.
Abdullahi Sule explained that he was obligated to take such action because he does not see the reason to waste government resources, as abandoning projects initiated by past administration for new ones amount to wastage.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to continue to render selfless services to meet the quest of people of the State.
Governor Sule said, though the award came in the early days of his administration, he would not relent in committing resources towards projects that have direct impact on the lives of people of the state.
National President of the NUJ, Chris Isigozu who presented the award to Governor Sule underscored the choice of the Governor for the award, explaining that it was his ability to make a difference in areas that are critical to socio-economic wellbeing of Nasarawa State.
On their parts, National Vice President, Zone D, Wilson Bako and the state Chairman NUJ, Comrade Salihu Mohammed Alkali hailed the Governor’s priority for peace building as displayed in his visit to Benue State to settle communal dispute, as well as his commitment to internal seecurity.
The event also received contributions from the General Manager, Radio Nigeria Precious Fm, Alhaji Musa Abdullahi who acknowledged Governor Abdullahi Sule’s uncommon attribute towards governance anchored on the wishes and aspirations of the people of Nasarawa State.
