Corps Members Cautioned Against Negative Use Of Social Media

Members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, have been counseled not to use the social media for fueling hatred and misinformation.

NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Mohammed Fada, gave the counsel in a message to the Swearing-in ceremony for newly deployed Corps members to Kwara State for their one year national service.

Brigadier General Fada, who was represented by the Kwara State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs Francisca Olaleye, during the ceremony at the State Permanent Orientation Camp, Yikpata, advised the youth to maintain high level of discipline at all times.

He urged them to distance themselves from cultism, drug abuse, fraud, other social vices and deploy their talents to promoting national unity and development.

In an address, the Kwara State NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs Francisca Olaleye, assured the corps members of adequate security and welfare throughout their service in the state.

According to a statement by the spokesman, Kwara NYSC, Mr Oladapo Morakinyo, a total of One thousand, five hundred and twenty Corps members took the oath of allegiance administered by the Chief Justice of Kwara State, Justice Suleiman Kawu represented by Justice Suleiman Akanbi.
