The Emir of Ilorin Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari recieved the newly elected officials of the apex socio cultural organisation of the indigenous people of Ilorin, Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, IEDPU led by the National President of the Union, Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman fsi.
The Emir was delighted and thankful to the Almighty Allah for the series of developments accorded in Ilorin Emirate during his reign as Eleventh Emir of Ilorin and called on all to contribute their quota for peaceful coexistence and more developments of the Emirate and the State at large.
Alhaji Sulu- Gambari commends the National President of IEDPU, Alhaji Uthman Otta for his humility and tireless efforts towards progress of the Union since two years ago when he assumed the leadership position of the Union.
In his remarks, the President of IEDPU, Alhaji Otta Uthman explained that the aim of the visit is to give report on the 56th annual convention which recorded a very huge success through the prayer and support of the Emir in all ramifications.
He updates the Emir on development on the Police Collage, Ballah and the latest on the ICT hub project embarked upon and being monitored by the Union with two eyes opened.
Alhaji Otta Uthman emphasized that he could not have accomplished a single achievement without the cooperation and support of all Members of the Union and well-to-do indigenes of Ilorin Emirate. He also called for the support of people of Emirate towards the completion of the ongoing ICT hub project.
Alhaji Uthman Otta used the avenue to introduce the newly elected officials of the union who will pilot its affairs for the next two years.
Alhaji Uthman Otta was accompanied to the palace by Vice President of the Union, ACG AbdulMuhmin AbdulMailk, the National Secretary of the union, Alhaji Abubakar Imam, First Assistant Secretary, Dr. Jimoh Ajadi and the Third Assistant Secretary, Alhaji Nurudeen Alao.
Also in the delegate are the Treasurer, Mall. Adam Alabere, Financial Secretary, Mall Sulaiman Shuaib, the Social Secretary, Mall Mahmud Alfa Pakata, Assistant Social Secretary, Mr. Mahmud Sulaiman Alaro, Assistant Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Dagbo, former Acting president of the Union, Alhaji Y.O Ahmad and some other prominent members of the Union.
