Minister for works and housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola has asked Nigerians to look beyond FG for governance results.
He said Nigerians are always disappointed in the current President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration because they look for results in the wrong places.
The minister made this known in an independence anniversary interview with Channels TV to mark Nigeria’s 60th independence anniversary.
The works and housing minister further stated that the responsibility of the government is to project hope for people.
“Governance is not magic. Our responsibility is to always project hope. Perhaps those who feel that way (disappointed) should be made to realize that what we expect of the Nigerian Federal government lies more with the state government and the local government, some of the most basic things.” Fashola said
He urged people expecting miracle from the federal government to focus on the state and the local government because they are closer to the grassroots than the government in Abuja.
