FEDPOFFA Charges Freshers On Good Conducts As They Take Oath Of Admission

About Eight Thousand new intake Students of the Federal Polytechnic Offa, FEDPOFFA have been charged to accord priority to their studies in the institution, respect constituted authority and shun all social vices, so as to excel in their academic pursuit.

The Acting Rector, Federal Polytechnic Offa, Dr. Olarongbe Afolabi gave the advice at the 28th Matriculation ceremony of the Polytechnic, held at the school Theater Hall in Offa.

Dr. Olarongbe tasked the students to refrain from hooliganism, cultism, and all acts that could lead to destruction, as well as not to involve in the Get Rich Quick Syndrome mentality.

On the proposed industrial action by Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, ASUP, the Acting Rector urged both the Federal Government and the union to reach a compromise in the interest of the students.

He also admonished the Federal Government to accord more importance to educational funding, to address infrastructural decadence in the country’s public tertiary institutions.

The Director Students Affairs, FEDPOFFA, Dr. Waheed Balogun said that suicide is not an option for failure and advised the matriculants to put in their best to achieve excellent academic performance.

The event featured goodwill messages from Representatives of sister institutions, and paramilitary agencies in the State.
