Igbomina Synod: Cleric Charges FG To Fix Security Problem

Federal Government has been admonished to find lasting solution to the insecurity ravaging the country.

Bishop of Jebba Anglican Diocese, Kwara State, Right Reverend Oluwaseun Aderogba, gave the advice at the Second session of Eighth Synod of Igbomina Anglican Diocese held at Saint Peter’s Anglican Church, Arandun in Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State.

Bishop Aderogba who was kidnapped and released last month with his wife and driver along New Oyo-Ogbomoso Expressway said beefing up security would enable Nigerians carry-out their expected duties.

The Bishop of Jebba Diocese emphasized that experience at the kidnappers den helped him to know that God answered prayers, urging Christians to evangelize more, for God to arrest hearts of those troubling the country.

Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Mr. Kayode Alabi urged Churches of God to help rescue the world from stronghold of Satan through prayers.

Represented by Chairman, Irepodun Local Government Transition Implementation Committee, Comrade Jide Oyinloye, Mr. Alabi noted that Nigeria required intervention of the Church, as soldiers enlisted in the army of Christ, to overcome her socio-political and economic predicaments.

On next year’s general election, President of the Synod, Bishop Emmanuel Adekola advised Nigerians to vote for capable candidates who place humanity above tribe and religion sentiments.

Bishop Adekola stressed that capable candidates who placed humanity above sentiments would turnaround economy of the country.

Venerable Paul Falusi admonished Federal Government to do the needful for striking lecturers, stressing that delayed resumption of students might lead them to criminal activities.

Similarly, Venerable Williams Oshobukola urged Christians to put on armour of God to overcome intrigues of devil.

While analysing armour of God to include holiness, righteousness, truthfulness and love, Venerable Oshobukola emphasized that anyone who because of worldly things embraced Satan, would end up in hellfire.

In their separate remarks, Bishop of Owo Anglican Diocese in Ondo State, Dr. Steven Fagbemi and Bishop of Omu-Aran, Right Reverend Festus Sobanke urged the Church to match forward through prayers for God to help perich enemies of the Church.

In a remark, Chairman, Local Organizing Committee, Mr. Bisi Fakayode stressed that as onward soldiers, Christians are fighting spiritual war, which can be won through prayers, love and unity.

Correspondent Lanre Omotoso reports that Alaran of Arandun, Oba Ibikunle Adekanye, PDP aspirant for Kwara South, Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, representatives of PDP governorship aspirant, Mr. Yahman Abdullahi, PDP candidate house of representatives for Oke-Ero-Isin-Ekiti-Irepodun, Engineer Dare Bankole, Mr. Nurudeen Adeyemi, former Kwara State commissioner of Agriculture, Mr Oke Bamidele graced the Second session of the Eighth Synod of Igbomina Anglican Diocese.

Others are Bishops of Ekiti-Kwara, Right Reverend Andrew Ajayi, Bishop of Offa, Right Reverend Olusola Akanbi, Alapa of Omido, Oba Adegboyega Adeyemi, PDP deputy Governorship candidate, Mr Gbenga Makanjuola, delegates from near and far.
