This was sequel to a Motion on Notice titled ” Need to Curb Use of Road Medians and Walkways as Refuse Dumps in Ilorin Metropolis” sponsored by member representing Share-Oke Ode Constituency, Abdulrazaq Owolabi.

Mr Owolabi observed that traders, shop owners and other residents at Oja Oba, Oja Tun-Tun, Ipata, Gambari, Balogun Fulani, Centre Igboro, Taiwo, Surulere and other areas are notorious for what he described as uncivilized practice.

Some Lawmakers in the their contributions called for public enlightenment of the people on proper Environmental Sanitation to guarantee healthy environment.

Reading the resolutions, the Speaker, Engineer Yakubu Danladi-Salihu urged Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to direct Ministries of Health, Environment and Communications to swing into action of educating the people on the need to put an end to illegal dumping of refuse on road medians and walkways.

Engineer Danladi-Salihu appealed to the executive arm to invoke the provision of relevant sections in the State Environmental Laws and establish Mobile Courts to bring erring members of the public to book in a bid to serve as deterrents to others.
