Kwara House of Assembly Service Commission pledges commitment to sports development

The Kwara State House of Assembly Service Commission has promised to join hands with the state Sports Council to reposition sports activities in the state.

The Chairman of the Commission, Femi Yususf made the promise when he led other members of the Kwara Chess Association to the State Director of Sports, Coach Ibrahim Atanda Alarape in his office.

Yusuf, who described the appointment of Alarape as a round peg in a round hole also pledged to use his office to assist the council.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Chess Association, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Aiyelabegan unveiled the association’s plan to construct a standard chess house at the stadium, to enhance the scope of the game.

The Director of Sports in his address commended the association for its initiative, and also reiterated the council’s commitment towards improving the game of chess and other games in the state.
