The Kwara State Local Government Service Commission has organised training for Heads of Department and Planning officers in all the Sixteen Local Government Areas of the state in the area of planning, research and statistics on the strategic use of Information and Communication Technology to build capacity at the third tier of government.
In his address, the Chairman Kwara State Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Umar Danladi-Shehu said staff training and retraining was an inherent mandate of the Commission and commended Governor AbdulRahamn AbduRazaq administration for creating the enabling environment for the training.
Alhaji Danladi-Sheu said the Commission embarked on training of workers in the senior cadres to enhance efficiency through Human Capital Development in the Local Government Service to enable them revisit what they learnt during the training and passed it on to others.
He also urged staff of Local Government to avoid the old system of not being productive and key into vision of the present administration which according to him has given top priorities to staff welfare including promotion exercise for 2019-2020.
Earlier, Commissioner Two, kwara State Local Government Service Commission Hajjia Maryam AbdulWasiu appreciated Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq for showing interest in capacity building of workers at the local government level.
Hajjia Maryam Abdulwasiu enjoined the participants to take
advantage of the training by participating actively in the workshop to achieve the desired result.
Maryam Giwa Bello reports that some of the participants; Mr.Yahaya Abolaji from Moro Local Government and Oyinlade Banke from Oyun Local Government described the training as a good intiative which would enable them perform better in their various duty posts.
