The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested a 27 year old suspected thief for stealing Toyota Camry saloon red color car with regs.no EPE 294 GT.
The Command’s public relations officer, Babawale Zaid Afolabi stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in llorin.
According to him, the suspect by the name Abubakar Aliyu,a father of two, committed the offence at one private hostel in malete, Kwara State university area.
” Through an effort of a surveillance team by intelligence and investigation, department, Abubaka Aliyu was arrested with the car”. Babawale disclosed.
The CDPRO narrated further that the car was parked in front of the hostel on Wednesday 11/08/2021 around 11pm in the night only to wake up the following morning of Thursday 12/08/2021 and found the car missing.Abubakar broke through the window of one of the hostel and made away with the car key thereby succeeded in stealing the car.
The image maker explained that the suspect took the car to one painter’s shop of Adewunmi Taiwo Gabriel at Oko Erin Area,ilorin,where the red color was changed to black color.This was done under 8 hours with the suspect standing by the painter and took the car out of the place the same day.
“The painter,Adewunmi Taiwo may not conspire with the suspect but acted foolishly for painting and changing the colour of the car.
Both suspects are now in our custody while Abubakar have confessed to have committed the crime,Babawale added”
Meanwhile, the state commandant, Makinde Iskil Ayinla has been briefed of the incident and further actions will be taken after his directive.
