A timely arrival of an operative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command saved life of a day old baby girl who was abandoned at a dump site in the early hours on Friday.
According to the NSCDC spokesman in Kwara State, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, the incident occured in Dokoyirigi Compound,, Patigi in Edu local government area of the State.
” In the early hours of Friday, one of our officers at the Patigi Divisional Office, who was on her way to office discovered an unidentified baby girl that was later discovered to be a day old infant. The baby was left in a stinking dump site located around Dokoyirigi area of the town”, Babawale narrated.
He disclosed further that the baby, who was already becoming unconscious was later taken to the general hospital in Patigi where she was promptly attended to and her medical condition was stabilised.
Meanwhile, efforts are ongoing to arrest the person that left a day old baby in such a dehumanized condition while a staff of the hospital, Tsado Racheal has signified her intention to adopt the baby after all the necesary and proper documentation and actions might have taken place.
