Kwara Rainstorm: Radio Nigeria Harmony FM extends fellow feeling to victims

Kwara State Government has been urged to hasten the support it pledged to victims of Saturday’s rainstorm that rendered many homeless in Ilorin metropolis.

Magaji Ara-Oyo, Omoda in Ilorin West LGA of Kwara State, Alhaji Soliu Abdulsalam made the appeal in his “Fada” while speaking with Radio Nigeria Harmony FM delegation during a visit to some of the affected victims in the area.

Alhaji AbdulSalam who explained that about fifty houses were destroyed at Omoda area by the rainstorm lamented the effect on the residents just as he enjoined both federal and state government to urgently provide relieve materials for the victims to aid the reconstruction of their houses.

Magaji Ara Oyo, Omoda who also called on well to do individuals to support government in providing succour to the victims of the rainstorm commended Radio Nigeria Harmony FM for its corporate social responsibility and community reports at all times.

He prayed to Allah to continue to uplift the station and its staff.

The Harmony FM Team was also at Adebara’s compound to sympathize with the family of one of her staff affected by the rainstorm.

In their addresses to Harmony FM delegation, the representatives of Adebara compound, Alhaji Taiwo Adebara and Alhaji Toyin Abdulkareem said that a communication mast initially belonging to Multlinks now property of Infrastructure Holding Services caused the destruction when the rainstorm forcefully descended the Mast on their family house.

“A communiqué has been issued to the said service provider in respect of the damage,” they added.

Earlier, the family members while taking Harmony FM delegation led by the station’s General Manager, Alhaji Abdulmualiy Olarewaju Adegboyega round the house to cross check the level of damages appreciated the visitors for their concerns.

Alhaji Adegboyega who was represented by Head of News and Current Affairs Department, Hajia Rasheedat Ilyas prayed to Allah to bless the family with the necessary relieve-valve and safeguard kwarans and Nigerians at large against reoccurrence of such horrible incident.

Other members of the delegation were Deputy Head of News and Current Affairs Department, Mr. Lawrence Afolabi , News Correspondent Hajia Rasheedat Olooru and Mr. Abdullateef Olawuwo.
