Minimum Wage Bill Should Remain In Exclusive List: Kwara NLC Stages Protest

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Trade Union Congress TUC, and other affiliated bodies in Kwara State this Morning staged a peaceful protest in Ilorin, the State Capital against the proposed move of the National Assembly to remove the Minimum wage from the Exclusive Legislative List to the Concurrent Legislative List.

The State Chairman NLC also the Deputy National President NURTW Comrade Aliyu Issa – Ore while addressing the members said the peaceful rally was in line with the directive from the Union’s National Body which called for the demonstration Nationwide.

The peaceful protest which took off from the Labour House at Offa Road, moved to Post Office Area, Challenge, Ministry of Works Roundabout and terminated at the Union’s Secretariat.

Our Correspondent Aminah Salako – Adekunle who reports that Men of the Nigeria Police Force were on ground to provide adequate security, as members of the organized labour unions carried different placards with inscription like “Nigeria Workers SAY No To Obnoxious Policies” as well as chanting of different Solidarity songs.
