Nigerian youths have been urged not to despise little beginning but determine to grow little income they are given to profitable ventures.
Executive Director, National Center for Agricultural Mechanization, NCAM, Dr Muideen Kasali gave the advice at the opening training on Integrated farming for some selected youths in North Central geopolitical zone of the country, held at the centre, in Idofian, Kwara State.
Represented by Engineer AbulRasheed Kamal, Dr Kasali said with determination of humble beginning they would achieve success if they practice integrated farming optimally.
The NCAM boss reiterated that Nigerians still practice subsistence farming, hence the need to modernize into integrated farming to reduce wastages.
Dr Kasali stressed that at the end the training, participating youth would be able to combine crop production with fishery, snailery, poultry and cattle rearing, to safe cost and reduce wastages.
Similarly, NCAM Director of planning, Engineer Julius Omisore who noted that through Senate Committee on Agriculture, participants were drawn from the North Central geopolitical zone of the country to change negative mindset about farming.
Represented by Engineer Joseph Adebija, Engineer Omisore emphasized that any serious minded person would achieve success in no distance time with judicious use of starter packs such as chickens, fingerlings and cash.
Engineer Omisore explained that there had been testimony of success from previous trainees, noted that they would also have testimonies in no distance time if they utilise knowledge gathered during the training accordingly.
