PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI APPROVES RECONSTITUTION OF BOARD OF NPA, SHIPPERS’ COUNCIL, OTHERS

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the re-constitution of members of the governing boards of some agencies under the Federal Ministry of Transportation.

The agencies affected are the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, (MAN, ORON) and the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

Lawal Sama’ila Abdullahi is named the Chairman of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council. Members of the board are Rufai Ahmed Akambi, Usen Ekong Udoh, Otunba Oluseyi Oduntan, Violet Oliatan Williams, and Mohammed Allamin Kam-Salem. Hon. Emmanuel Lyambee Jime is the Executive Secretary/CEO.

The NITT has Hon Ejike Njeze as the Chairman. Members are Alh. Amuda Seriki, Mr. Muhiydeen Sani Awwal, Mr. Paul Eluhaiwe, Hon. Gbenga Elegbele, and Sen. Tutare Abubakar. Dr. Bayaro S. Farah is to continue as the Director-General/CEO.

The MAN, ORON has Rear Adm. Jacob Adekunle Ajani as the Chairman, Alh. Abdullah Nurudeen, and Larry Odeh, are members while Commodore D. E. Effedua is the Rector/CEO.

For the NIWA, Hon. Binta Masi Garba is the Chairman. Chibuike Ikenga is a member and Chief (Dr) George N. Moghalu is the Managing Director/CEO.

The NPA has Chief Akinwunmi Ricketts as the Chairman. Members are Sen. Ayogu Eze, Ghazali Moh’d, Abdullazeez Nyako, Abdulwahab Adeshina, Mustapha Aminu Dutse, Ms Adenrele Susana Adeshina, Director of Finance and Mr Mohammed Bello Koko is the Managing Director/CEO.

A statement from Mr Eric Ojiekwe, the Director, Press & PR, Federal Ministry of Transportation said the inauguration of the boards by the Minister of Transportation will be conveyed in due course.
