After reading this article last time, I got divergent responses from the public: to some it taken a well informed mind to take this path, while others believed that its nothing but act of betrayal,,,,,, some even dropped the biggest bombshell! “Taju,,ELO NI GBENGA POWER GBE FUN E? How much did Gbenga Power paid you for this job”?.

It often beats my imagination how we speak from both sides of our mouth when it comes to politics; today people will tell you that you have to be in a particular political party because it’s the ruling party and anyone who fails to join the moving train would be left behind.

Another time, we are told to “Take a Stand No Matter What the Repercussion Will Be ” We will not follow the Crowd “…….

Some of us in this ancient town have long discovered that, few elements are taking advantage of our sensitivity and quest to be identified to make way for themselves.

No amount of blackmail or social media brouhaha can make some of us to shift ground as far as this election whixh is just few hours away from now.

I wasn’t surprised that many people from Ifelodun Local Government Area were full of of gratitude to me for reminding them that it’s either they key into the Gbenga Power mandate or have themselves to blame.

How would they explain if after the 25th of February, it was discovered that the bulk of the vote which make Gbenga Oyekunle-Power to emerge as the House of Representatives member elect for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency comes from Offa and Oyun Local Government Areas?

If we really want to have a paradigm shift in governance, we MUST jettison the syndrome of voting for people based on sentiments including the political party they belong. I stand to be corrected, what is the significance of the 100% votes delivered by Kwarans to the APC in the 2019 elections?

For Kwarans to show that we know our rights, let’s change the game in 2023 by voting strictly base on personalities and not political parties.

If out of the House of Representatives the ruling APC narrowly got one, while the rest goes to ADC, PDP, YPP and LP. Let the SDP clinch the Senate ticket for Kwara South, NNPP for Kwara Central and PDP in Kwara North, I bet you it would no longer be business as usual.

I know some readers are already boiling, but the implication is that no political party or individual will have that audacity to lord themselves over the electorate.

Am not saying that Gbenga Power is a saint, neither do I say he is a magician, my point is let’s have a change of baton and give everyone that sense of belonging.

In one of their lousy radio programs, a highly respected man who I will prefer not to mention his name went as far as saying ” If the people fail to vote for the ruling party Federal Legislature Candidates, It will be a wasted 4 years “.

I was shocked and disappointed, and as if that wasn’t enough; a former Commissioner for Information in this state who is well known for his propaganda, condemned the ruling party in Kwara State and warned that no fresh ideas should be given a chance but rather allow his party come back to power !.

These are nothing but campaigns that lack issues and substances and am happy that our people already made up their minds on this election.

Pleasant surprises await everyone come February 25th February 2023! ( Less than 48 hours from now)

MY BELOVED PEOPLE OF IFELODUN/OFFA/OYUN FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY, GET YOUR PVC READY AND CAST YOUR VOTES FOR GBENGA OYEKUNLE-POWER!

I will be back soon!
