Unilorin Student Rape-Murder: DSS Presents 40 Evidences In Court

The Department of State Service (DSS) has present 40 evidences at the continued hearing in the trial of rape and murder of a 300-level student of the University of Ilorin, Olajide Blessing Omowumi.

Among the exhibits tendered by the DSS operative, Mr. Igwe Imo, included a wooden toy gun, allegedly used by the suspects to threaten the victim.

The DSS also presented three witnesses, who included Zainab Olaiya the girlfriend of one of the accused, Akande Taiye. The witness told the court that Akande called her with a phone number suspected to be that of the late Blessing Olajide.

Zainab was tracked and invited by the DSS and this further led to the arrest of the accused person through her.

Kwara State Police Command had confirmed the suspected rape and murder of Olajide Blessing Omowumi at her residence located at Tanke, Ilorin metropolis on June 2, 2021.

The suspects include; Abdulazeez Ismail, Ajala Moses Oluwatimileyin (Jacklord), Oyeyemi Timileyin Omogbolahan, Abdulkarim Shuaib (Easy), Kareem Oshioyemi Rasheed (Rashworld), Abdullateef Abdulrahman, Daud Bashir Adebayo (Bashman), and Akande Taiye Oladoja.

The case was adjourned till July 13.
