As the Super Eagles of Nigeria trade tackles with the Black Star of Ghana tomorrow in the first leg of FIFA World playoff 2022 Qatar, Kwara state pillar of sports, Prince Oladimeji Thomson has called on Nigerians in Ghana to come out enmass and cheer the Super Eagles to victory.
Prince Thomson said the large turn up of Nigerians at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi where the match will take place would serve as morale booster to the players and give more confidence needed to spur them to victory.
The Kwara Pillar of Sports advised the players to play as a team in order to achieve the common goal which is to beat Ghana at home convincingly.
“The players should work collectively, if they play collectively it is always better than individual style of play and with the caliber of players paraded in the team, I believe we’ll really go to make tomorrow”
He also urged all the Nigeria supporter groups to come together and give all the necessary supports needed to make the darling team triumph against its arch rival.
Prince Oladimeji Thomson Commended the Minister of Sports Mr Sunday Dare for the Preparation a head of the second leg at MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
He therefore prayed to God to crown the team’s efforts with success.
Ghana, as the lower-ranked team in the FIFA men’s standings, will host the first contest of this two-leg tie tomorrow 25 March at Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30 local time.
The second leg will be played four days later on Tuesday, March 29 at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, Nigeria. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 local time.
The aggregate winners of the tie will secure a place at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, which will take place between November and December this year.
