This is contained in the 2021 budget proposal presented last Thursday to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Maxilensnews garnered that item listed under the State House budget reads in part, “ERGP 7102245 annual routine maintenance of mechanical/electrical installations of the Villa ongoing, N4,854,381,299.
Reacting to this development, Coordinator International Media Watch Group for Peace and Strategic Initiative, Dr. Alameen Abdulkodir has called for a detailed break down of the proposed expenses to prevent suspicion and allegation of possible budget paddling.
He noted that 4.85 billion Naira for bare maintenance of electricity appliances is too exorbitant especially with a budget financed with huge borrowings.
Dr. Abdulkodir called on the National Assembly to deconstruct the said amount and channel the remainders to social projects that would have direct impact on the people.
