Executive Director, National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization, NCAM, Dr. Muideen Kasali, gave the advice at a capacity building for tractor operators and training for youth and women on integrated farming in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Dr Kasali said the youth should use the fabrication skills learnt during the 21-day training programme to help Small and Medium Enterprises in their localities to fabricate agricultural machines, as well as train others to achieve Federal Government’s industrialization policy for the sector.
The resource persons emphasized that serious minded people would achieve success in no distant time with judicious use of starter packs such as chickens, fingerlings and cash.
The programme is in line with the efforts of the federal government to diversify the economy, with priority on fabrication of machines for agricultural use in the country.
