A former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, on Sunday revealed the plan of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain in power at both Federal and State levels for 50 years.
He stated this on while addressing newsmen in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Sheriff, a 3-time Senator who is also a contender for the APC national chairmanship, called on stakeholders of the party to unite in an effort to remain in power after President Muhammadu Buhari’s exit in 2023.
He said, “Today, as a party, we are only six years in power, our aspirations are for the ruling APC to be in government in the next 50 years without interruption.
“Buhari brought that to the table and what are we going to face after the exit of His Excellency, the President? It is we the APC members especially the stakeholders that will tell the world that we are capable of getting their trust even when he finishes his tenure and leave the office, he said.
