Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Benin Republic, Lt General Tukur Buratai has formally met with President Patrice Talon of the Benin Republic.
This is coming a week after the arrest of the embattled secessionist, Sunday Igboho and his wife, Ropo.
Buratai met with the Beninese President to present his letter of credence to him.
President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Buratai as Nigeria’s envoy to the Benin Republic.
Igboho was arrested in Cotonou, capital of Benin Republic, while trying to escape to Germany.
He had fled the country after the Department of State Services (DSS) raided his residence and subsequently declared him wanted.
Igboho is being tried in the Francophone country.
