Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has welcomed the elevations of three indigenes of Ilorin Emirate in the services of the Nigeria Police, describing the development as one of community’s finest moments in the realm of police service.
The Union, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Nurudeen Ibrahim, on behalf of the National President, Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman,fsi, said that the IEDPU was extremely delighted with the promotion of Messers Babatunde Ishola Babaita,Yekini Ayoku and Garba Salman Dogo.
Alhaji Uthman added that the Union appreciated the promotion of Babaita and Ayoku to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police and that of Dogo to the status of Commissioner of Police,describing it as another set of palatable Ramadan gifts to the good people of Ilorin Emirate.
He added that the latest promotion exercise in the Nigeria Police, which was unveiled yesterday, has made it the first time in the history of the community when it would simultaneously produce and parade two of its sons as Assistant Inspectors General of Police while also welcoming another one into the rank of Police Commissioner.
The statement, while congratulating the trio, charged them to remain upright, selfless and brave in the discharge of their duties to the people and government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The three gentlemen were also reminded of the need to also continue to serve as models to their younger colleagues in the Nigeria Police, saying that the community needed to produce more of them.
IEDPU also rejoiced with the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji(Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, on the elevations of the three distinguished officers and gentlemen.
The Union wished the trio sound health and continuous successful careers.
