IEDPU urges Kwara CP to beef up security

The National President of Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union, (IEDPU), Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi, has urged the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, Mr Victor Olaiya, to work with other security agencies towards beefing up the security of life and property across the State.

 

Alhaji Uthman made this appeal today during a courtesy visit he paid to the new Commissioner of Police Mr. Victor Olaiya,in office at the State Police Headquarters.

 

The retired intelligence technocrat described the people of Ilorin Emirate as peace loving and accommodating. He encouraged the people of the State not to tolerate anything that can jeopardise the existing peace of the State.

 

He implored the new Commissioner to put in place necessary mechanisms that would lead to a remarkable reduction in the rate of kidnapping and killings in the Emirate and the State at large.

 

The IEDPU National President also pledged the total support of the Union to the Police in its fight against crimes and criminality.

 

Alhaji Uthman, who thanked the Commissioner of Police for his hospitality, also informed the Commissioner of the forthcoming National Conference of the Union slated for between December 25 and 26, 2023.

Responding, CP Olaiya, said that he was overwhelmed with the visit of IEDPU.

 

Mr Ola used the privilege of the meeting to brief the Union on the efforts of the Police in the fight against cultism, kidnapping and other social vices in the State.

 

He added that the Nigeria Police is in dare need of information from members of the public as he promised absolute confidentiality of the sources of such information towards ensuring adequate protection of lives and property of the people of the State.

 

On the entourage of the IEDPU’s National President,were: the National Vice President of the Union,Alhaji AbdulMumini Abdulmalik; the National Secretary, Mallam Abubakar Imam; the Chairman, National Conference Planning Committee, Alhaji Abdullahi Bolakale Yusuf, the National Treasurer, Mallam Adam Hanafi Alabere and the Assistant Publicity Secretary, Mallam Sulaiman Shuaib Dagbo.
