Abdulhamid Umar Muhammad, from Nassarawa local government of Kano state, has formally declared intention to contest for the office of All Progressives Congress (APC) Northwest Zonal Youth Leader, in line with governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s call for youth to rise up and participate in both governance and politics.
The event took place at Tourist Camp, Saturday, with the participation of youth across all the seven states of the Northwest political zone.
The aspirant reveals that, “Our participation in this struggle is but an effort to respond to the call made by our people’s governor, the governor of Kano state, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, that youth must wake up and participate fully in politics at all levels.”
“Governor’s call is genuine, looking at the appreciable youth participation in his government. Baba Ganduje has always been a beacon for hope and a greatest mentor for youth development,” he said.
He boasted that, “Being the youngest member of Contact and Mobilisation of APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), 2019, as well as a member World Youth Assembly, I think I stand a better chance for this position. Which is all about serving humanity and strengthening party politics.”
Muhammad believes that, fundamental keys to unlocking doors to personal excellence, depend on the will to win, desire to succeed and one’s urge to reach his or her full potentials.
To further encourage other youth he assured that, “Today, I am not here to share with you list of programmes, but to share with you a collective vision and a dream of taking our youth from Northwest to a greater height. Through ensuring proper youth inclusion in governance.”
In his formal declaration, he said, “Today, after continued and extensive consultations, I wish to present myself to the members of our great party, the APC, especially the teeming youth of our dear zone, to vie for the position of the APC Northwest Zonal Youth Leader, at the forthcoming Extraordinary National Convention.”
Adding that, because of his deeper understanding of how best youth should stand on their own and the necessity for them to be self-reliant, it is necessary for people like him to always listen to wake up calls.
“This is what we are doing now,” he emphasized.
Supporters who came from other states of the zone assuredly put that, being an activist, former students union leader, youth mobilizer, a philanthropist, whose scope of operation, as an astute activist, transcends boundaries, they believe that, he could take youth to greater height.
