Kwara Gov reiterates commitment to Agric and Rural Development

Kwara State Government has reiterated its commitment towards embarking on programmes and policies that will boost agriculture and rural development.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq stated this at a community function at Okeya-ipo in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

Governor AbdulRazaq said his administration would give top priority to agriculture to boost food production and called on the people to give maximum support to the government.

Meanwhile, the APC Ajase Ward-1, Okeya zone presented farm inputs to farmers in the zone to enhance their productivities.

Chairman of the Okeya Zone, Comrade Tajudeen Saheed said the gesture was to support efforts of the state government on agriculture.

Distribution of farm inputComrade Saheed advised the beneficiaries to make good use of the inputs to improve their condition.

In a remark, APC Chairman in Irepodun Local Government, Mr Aransiola Samson and a stakeholder in Okeya-ipo, Alhaji Waheed Ibrahim expressed joy over the gesture and warned the beneficiaries against selling the items.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Chairperson, Women In Agriculture Business, Deaconess Ajala Rebecca thanked the Governor and leadership of APC in Okeya zone for the support, saying that it would go a long way in boosting their activities.

Deaconess Ajala Rebecca however appealed to the Kwara State Government and other stakeholders to redouble their efforts at assisting farmers with inputs to increase food production.

The farm inputs donated and distributed included hand sprayers and bottles of chemical.
