KWARA HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY CONFIRMS COMMISSIONER NOMINEES

Kwara State House of Assembly, has screened and confirmed Commissioner nominees forwarded to it by the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

This was part of the resolutions of the House read by the Speaker, Rt Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu at the floor during the plenary.

Those screened and confirmed are Aliyu Muhammad Saifudeen; Kaiama, Raji Razaq; Ekiti, Sulaiman Rotimi Iliasu, Moro, Aliyu Kora-Sabi; Baruten, Fatima Arinola Lawal; Ilorin East and Wahab Femi Agbaje, Offa.

Appearing before the House,  a nominee from Kaiama Local Government, Architect Aliyu Muhammad Saifudeen frowned at perpetual indiscriminate dumping of refuse on main roads particularly in the state capital

Architect Saifudeen who said poor refuse disposal could lead to outbreak of diseases and other epidemics suggested punitive measures for anyone found guilty of bad refuse disposal culture through legislation

Also, a nominee from Ekiti Local Government, Doctor Raji Razaq assured that every ward would have at least one primary healthcare renovated as twenty primary healthcare facilities have so far been renovated across the three Senatorial District of the State since inception of this administration

Doctor Razaq said the present dispensation has adopted inter and intra agency collaboration to achieve success in the health sector through sound community participation

On COVID 19, the nominee noted  that Kwara state is now ranked number four among the states in the federation with  effective management of COVID 19 pandemic and charged residents of the state take COVID 19 vaccine which he said would be a requirement to travel abroad

Responding to questions, Ibrahim Ratimi Iliasu of Moro Local Government opined that road construction and rehabilitation under governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq would stand a test of time

Mr Rotimi -Iliasu observed that the government is challenged with road selection and pusity of funds as about five thousand roads have been tipped for construction and rehabilitation across the State.
