As parts of activities to reduce unemployment in Kwara State, Igbomina Anglican Diocese has inaugurated a gas plant known as Jumosokan Gas Plant in Oke-Ola, Oro in Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State.

Bishop of Igbomina Anglican Diocese, Right Reverend Emmanuel Adekola said the gas plant is in tandem with federal government’s gas expansion program in partnership with NIPCO PLC to reduce crime through job creation.

While noting that use of charcoal, firewood and kerosene contribute to global warming, Bishop Adekola stressed that cooking gas which is environmental friendly would reduce deforestation.

Similarly, Chief Imam of Oro, Sheik Taofeek Sanusi who applauded the project, stressed that Bishop Adekola had exhibited love among other faithful and residents of Oro, as the gas station would lessen their burden of searching for cooking gas.

In a remark, Kwara State Director of Fire Service, Prince Olumuyiwa Falade who said Jumosokan Gas Plant was properly cited, advised Nigerians to always open their window while using gas to prevent fire disaster.

Prince Falade who was represented by head of fire prevention, Mr Mohammed Kazeem urged those using gas to have smelling nose to detect leakages as well as teach their children how to curb fire disaster.

Correspondent Lanre Omotoso reports that Igbomina Diocese subsidized a kilogram of gas for Six Hundred and Forty Naira, where representative of NIPCO PLC, Engineer Uche Irenaus and Onijan of Ijan-Otun, Oba Omoniyi Aransiola delivered goodwill messages.
