KWARA INAUGURATES SEVEN-MAN TASKFORCE COMMITTEE ON REVENUE

The Kwara State Government has inaugurated a seven-man Taskforce Committee on revenue collection for the Advanced Coaching Centres and Private Tertiary Institutions in the state.

Inaugurating the Taskforce Committee in his office, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Senior Ibrahim Sulyman Esq, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Hajia Hafsat AbdulRahman, urged members to be diligent and honest in the discharge of their duties.

The Committee has Mr. Banigbe Rotimi Williams as its Chairman while Mr. Ibrahim Musa, Mallam Ibrahim Ahmed and Mr. Sulyman Shehu Adejumo are to serve as members.

Other members are Mr. Salahudeen Isiaaq and Mr. Moshood Tijani while Pastor Olagunju Felix would serve as Secretary.

The Committee has the following terms of reference:-
i. To identify both legal and illegal Advanced Coaching Centres and Private Tertiary Institutions in the State;
ii. To identify those who have paid regularly and those that are defaulting;
iii. To identify newly established Advanced Coaching Centres and Private Tertiary Institutions in the State;
iv. To ensure up-to-date payment of Registration/Revenue and to ensure that all Advanced Coaching Centres and Private Institutions in the State provide evidence of registration with the Ministry.

Sulyman enjoined members of the Committee not to witch-hunt any individual or departments but to accelerate the recovery of debts that are being owed by various Advanced Coaching Centres and Private Tertiary Institutions in the state.

He also urged the Committee members not to disappoint the state government especially on the confidence reposed in them.

The Committee has three weeks to submit its report.

Responding on behalf of other members, the Chairman, Mr. Banigbe Williams, who was represented by the Secretary of the Committee, Pastor Olagunju Felix expressed their profound gratitude to the State Government for considering them worthy to contribute their individual quotas to the progress of the state.

He assured that the Committee will not disappoint the State Government on the confidence reposed in its members.
