The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested one Bashiru Bala Zuru, a meat seller and his accomplice, Nawali Bala for their attempt to sell contaminated and unhealthy cow Meats to unsuspected public.
In a statement signed by the Civil Defence PRO in the State Babawale Zaid Afolabi and made available to the newsmen in ilorin, the two suspects were arrested in Patigi, Edu local government area of the State.
Nawali Bala a native ofOkoloke, Kogi State. Bala was caught with some contaminated cow meats neatly packed inside polythene bags.
During the interrogation, Bala confessed that the cow meats was given to him by Dantani Jayewu who is now at large.
He explained that further checks by ministry of environment and public health confirmed that the cow meats are unhealthy for human consumption, adding that the suspects will be charged to court after the completion of the investigations.
