The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the killing of one Mr Kayode Akinyemi, the owner of Sixteen Hour Hotel along Alomilaya area, Ganmo Ilorin by some gunmen who invaded the hotel shooting indiscriminately.
A statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi says the assailants also inflicted injury on the hotel manager, Emmanuel Ojo while some people have been abducted.
Tactical Teams of the Command, Vigilante and hunters have been mobilized to the scene so as to comb the surrounding bushes for possible rescue of the victims and possible arrest of hoodlums.
Corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary of the general hospital for autopsy.
In the meantime, the statement indicates that the State Council of Police, Mr Tuesday Assayomo has declared lockdown of the area for a result oriented manhunt of perpetrators adding that stringent security action is already in place to checkmate activities of criminal elements in the state.
