The kwara State Commissioner for Heath, Dr Raji Razaq says the ministry is fully prepared to protect the citizens of the state against any outbreak of infectious diseases such as yellow fever.
Dr Razaq stated this during a telephone interview with correspondent Sodiq Adebara.
The commissioner said the that due to the outbreak of the disease in other parts of the country, the State Ministry has activated incident action plan and emergency preparedness and response team, while disease surveillance and notification officers in the Sixteen Local Government areas have been briefed.
He said the ministry has a formidable structure on ground to address all forms of diseases in case of outbreak of yellow fever.
Dr Razaq explained that the ministry has also activated active case search in every local government area to alert the ministry promptly in case of any suspected cases.
Kwara State Commissioner for Heath added that at the moment, there is no case of yellow fever in Kwara.
