The Nigerian Labour Congress, under the Ayuba Wabba’s leadership, has totally rejected the allegations levied against the Kano state Government by the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
It would be recalled that El-Rufai had come out publicly to say, the recent peaceful protest, strike actions embarked upon by the labour leaders in the state were sponsored by Kano Government.
The labour lead by Wabba had demanded the workers in the state to go on a five-day warning strike for what they tagged ‘Anti- workers policies’ caused by the Nasir El-Rufai led government.
Ayuba Wabba while refuting the allegations in a release tagged “Chronicles of a Governor’s industrial Malfeasance and tyranny_The blame game continues” reads: The attention of the Nigerian labour congress has been drawn to a viral video where the Governor of Kaduna state was said to have alleged that the recent protest by the NLC against the industrial tyranny of the Kaduna state Government under the leadership of Mr. Nasir El-rufai was sponsored by the Kano state Government
Normalcy returns to Kaduna as NLC calls off strike
“We wish to reject this lie which is nothing but another figment of hallucination by a state Governor whose past time is oppression, suppression, and intimidation”.
He said since Mr. Nasir El-rufai sacked thousands of Kaduna state workers, the Governor had not ceased to put a blame game on everyone for his industrial Malfeasance.
Continuing, “While denying that he sacked any worker, the Governor accused and blamed the Nigeria Labour Congress for making its case based on a false document. In the same breath, the Governor affirmed that he is on a mission of right-sizing and downsizing the Kaduna state public service.
“Also, in recent videos, Governor El-Rufai has blamed the Federal Government for not rallying to his support during the protest by workers. when that failed to gain traction, El-Rufai blamed his colleagues in the Nigeria Governor’s forum. Now he has narrowed his blame arrow in the Kano state Governor, alleging that it was Dr. Umar Ganduje who provided NLC with the funds to prosecute our last peaceful protest in Kaduna state. This is not unexpected of someone in perpetual hallucination”, it reads.
The labour head who had blamed the Governor said he is yet to refute the charge that he was the one that masterminded the sponsorship of hooligans to attack the peaceful protest by workers, injuring and maiming many workers in the state.
