REGULAR EXERCISE KEY TO EMOTIONAL ALERTNESS – Fagbenja

Nigerians have been enjoined to regularly engage in sporting activities so as to be physically, morally and emotionally balanced.

Head-Teacher, Saint John’s Anglican Public Primary School, Mrs Titilola Fagbenja gave the advice at the Fourth annual inter-house sports of the school in Idofian, Ifelodun local government of Kwara State.

Mrs Fagbenja said apart from fun, excitement and relaxation involved in regular sporting activities, it is an avenue to discover talents.

In a remark, educational secretary of Ifelodun local government, Mr Salman Jimoh urged parents to allow teachers to discover God- given talents in their children.

While noting that notable athletics were discovered during their school days, Mr. Jimoh advised public schools to create time for sporting activities.

Proprietor of the School, Canon Caleb Omoloye noted that public schools needed both financial and material resources from government and well-to-do individuals for efficient development of sports.

Similarly, Chairman, Ifelodun central Parents Teachers Association, Mr. Layi Balogun advised school children to desist from social vices such as hooliganism, cultism and drug abuse to achieve their purpose in life.

Lanre Omotoso reports that highlights of the sports activities included cultural display, fashion parade, sack race, egg race, different degree of field tracks, as well as relay races among invited schools within Idofian axis.
