The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) under the chairmanship of the Sultan of Sokoto, has declared Thursday as the 2021 Eid-Al-Fitr day in Nigeria.
This was announced through their official handle after being unable to sight the new moon of Shawwal 1442 AH.
The announcement reads: “There was no positive sighting of Shawwal crescent in Nigeria today, 29th Ramadan 1442 AH (Tuesday, 11th May 2021). Hence, tomorrow is 30th Ramadan 1442 AH (Wednesday, 12th May, 2021), Thursday is Eid day.
