Teachers, Parents Protest continuous silence on school reopening by kwara State Government

Some Parents and Teachers have stormed the Secretariat of the National association of proprietors of private schools appealing to the chairman of the association to persuade the state Governor, Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq to open schools.

The parents were spotted carrying placards with different inscriptions; “open our schools for students,” children are hawking round the streets rather than schooling ” teachers are suffering ” our pupils are in viewing centers and parties ”

While noting that most states are resuming on 21st of this month, the protesters lamented that the kwara state government is head bent on school reopening in kwara State.

According to the parents , parties are everywhere , hotel businesses have resumed , markets are running , children are following parents to worship centers and markets, how come resumption becomes difficult.

Addressing the parents and teachers, Chairman of NAPPS , Dr. Abdulrahaman Adetunji appealed to the teachers to be patient , noting that the commissioner of education has assured the association that government is working on school reopening in kwara state.

Adetunji concluded that private schools are ready to reopen as handlers have been trained on all necessary covid-19 guidelines like social distancing , hand washing , provision of sanitizers among others.
