Police in Zamfara state has arrested Bandits collaborators that includes Drug, logistics and Arms Suppliers, during interrogations of the suspects which led to Operation by the, the Police Tactical Operatives at different bandit’s enclaves in the State. The operations led to a serious gun battle with the bandits where unspecified numbers of bandits were fatally injured with others escaped with possible gunshot wounds. Ten (10) assorted AK-47 rifles with magazines containing one hundred and forty three (143) rounds of live ammunition were recovered from the scene.
The Police Tactical Operatives of Zamfara State Command in collaboration with Federal Investigation Bureau/Special Tactical Squared, FBI/STS, also arrested Mrs Fatima Lauwali who specialized in supplying arms and Ammunitions to Bandits in Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Kaduna, Katsina and Niger States along other Bandits collaborators.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba Elkana Who Paraded the Suspects before Journalists at the Command headquarters in Gusau said, the 30 years old Fatima Lauwali was arrested at Gada Biyu area of Bungudu LGA in possession of 991 rounds of AK47 live Ammunitions conveying from Dabagi village in sokoto State for delivery to a notorious Bandits kingpin called Ado Alero who has been terrorizing Zamfara and neighboring states and she confessed to commuting the crime.
CP Elkana noted that, the Tactical Operatives and FBI/STS from the force headquarters led by the DSP Hussaini Gimba have also successfully arrested one Babuga Abubakar who been collaborating with Notorious Bandits such as Lawali Na’eka a ring leader operating in Maradun LGA and one Almeriya a notorious Bandits kingpin operating in Bungudu LGA, Saying the suspect has confessed that, himself, lawali Na’eka and Almeriya conspired and went to Wanke Village in Gusau LGA with over 100 operational motorcycles and rustled 240 cows.
