The Kwara State Government has urged the Kwara Aritisian Congress in the State to make a comprehensive list of its members to aid decision-making.

The State Commissioner for Water Resources, Honourable Usman Yunusa Lade, stated this during a meeting with the representatives of the association at the ministry’s conference room today.

Hon. Lade emphasized that the ministry has the mandate to monitor the moving forward of the association, which is why the list of member’s names and numbers is a necessity.

The Commissioner noted that the ministry is in the know of the challenges faced by the associations, and are ready to provide adequate solution by setting a meeting with Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS), to ensure ease of payment.

“We want it to be a win-win situation and to avoid extortion, payment for registration and other necessary things will be made directly into the Kwara State Internal Revenue account, which will also help increase the state revenue.

“We will provide the necessary resources and professional advice that will help propel the association to the level it should be.” He stated.

The Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Omolola Christianah Asonibare, stressed that the meeting will help create an enabling environment for the association.

Earlier, The Chairman of the Association of Table Producers, Alh. Ali Jiddal said the association is delighted with the way the ministry has come to their aid, and they are ready to give the maximum cooperation.

The Kwara State Laundry and Dry Cleaner Association General Secretary, Mr. Marindoti Abiodun, also briefed the Commissioner about some challenges the State Government needs to tackle for the association to move forward.
