The Abuja-Kaduna highway has recently been described as a death knell, due to increased kidnappings and bloodshed. The Abuja to Kaduna road is one of the most dangerous routes currently being discussed.

Security is a basic requirement as human beings but our country has been a theater of genocide, bloodshed and insecurity for decades.

Kidnapping has. Affected and still affecting us, almost every economy and business is declining, Foreign investors and domestic investors are only investing in a region where there is perceived security, which is very influential to the economic collapse of the northern region.

Insecurity has closed some major markets and schools in the region in the market including Ilela, Danduma, maidabino, ice, rice, Bardoki chiran etc. which is having a huge impact on the economy of the northern region.
Insecurity, however, increases social risk, such as child abuse, repp, domestic violence and much more.
which increases the risk of contracting infectious diseases as wel as sexual transmitted diseases.

At the same time, there is a need for the government at all levels to step up its efforts to provide security for all citizens and to monitor bodies responsible ,since tackling insecurity is one of the promises made during the election campaign. Of 2016 general election .and it is the duty of the government as provided in section 14 (1) b of the constitution that every security and welfare of people shall be primary purpose the main objective of the government.

Finally, we pray for the removal of Nigeria in the next year from third ranking nation in 163 countries on the global terrorist scale, according to global terrorism index.
