BREAKING: Aisha Bura Elected NAWOJ President

Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, has elected Aisha Ibrahim Bura as the new president of the association.

Mrs Bura was elected during the association’s eleventh triennial delegate conference, where she defeated the incumbent Nawoj’s president, Mrs Ladi Bala, in Abuja.

Other newly elected officials include Wasila Ladan, as the National Secretary, Lillian Okonkwo as the National Deputy president, Jamila Chinwe Abubakar as the National Auditor, while the treasurer, Fatima Rasheed and the financial secretary, Ifeoma Aka, were returned unopposed.

All the new National executives were sworn-in at Dr Maryam Babangida Women Development Centre in Abuja; the venue of the election.

It would be recalled that, Mrs Bura contested for thes position, but lost to Mrs Ladi Bala, in 2020, in Minna, Niger State.
