The Governing Council of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIOTA) has approved the appointment of MR.RASHEED ISIAKA AIYELABEGAN, FNIM, MCIOTA, MCIA, as the Pioneer REGISTRAR of the institute.The appointment is for a one term period of 5 years.
Mr. Aiyelabegan assumed duty on Wednesday 1st September, 2021, by this
appointment he is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Institute. He is also
responsible for the implementation of all policies laid down by the Governing
Council of the Institute. He will also serve as Secretary of the council and all
standing Committees.
Mr. Aiyelabegan is a professional administrator specialize in human resources and personnel management,his career reflect over two decades of experience in public, private and institutional administration. He has the vision, leadership and energy to support the growing needs of our Institute.
He received Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Ahmadu
Bello University, Zaria, Master of public administration from University of
Ilorin and later went on to complete his Masters in Transport Management
from Ladoke Akintola University Ogbomosho. He is a member of many
professional bodies amongst which are, Nigeria Institute of Management
(Fellow) Chartered Institute of administration, (member) Nigerian institute of training and development, and chartered institute of personnel management.
(CIPM).
He started his career with Kwara State Investment and property Development
Company working his way through the ranks, he was appointed head of
corporate planning department. He also served in Kwara State Ministry of
Works and Transport as well as Ministry of Education Science and Technology
as senior and principal administrative officer respectively. He was appointed
co-secretary of the technical committee for the establishment of Kwara State
University.
In the year 2018, Mr. Aiyelabegan coordinated the take off of the University
in his position asDESK OFFICER for University project. After the take off of
the University and Going by the success recorded in the University project.
Mr. Aiyelabegan was later appointed pioneer Registrar of International
Aviation College in the year 2012 and successfully served two tenure of eight
years. He was later deployed to Business development and Marketing
department of the College as Head of Head of department in the year 2020.
He was appointed/ elected Assistant National Secretary of the institute of
transport administration of Nigeria (iota) between the year 2015- 2017,
Chairman Kwara State chapter of CIOTA 2015-date, Chairman Kwara State
chess association 2019- Date, among others. Mr. Aiyelabegan, is an author with several books published to his credit. He is
happily married with children.
