A suspected suicide bomber has been blown up in the Afikpo local government area of Ebonyi state.
According to a report, the incident occurred on Tuesday, May 25, at about 12pm.
The huge explosion which resulted from the blast was said to have prompted residents in the area to scamper for safety.
The yet-to-be-identified man who reportedly was carrying the explosive on his body was said to have been completely mutilated by the bomb blast.
“He made an attempt to enter Amaizu/ Amangballa Primary School but was turned back by the school security since he couldn’t justify his reason for visiting. He immediately started running inside a nearby bush before a big bang was heard, ” the source said.
Meanwhile, Ebonyi state commissioner for internal security, Stanley Okoro confirmed the incident, he, however, stated that he was yet to get details of the incident.
