Covid-19: Governor El-rufai threatens another lock down

Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai of Kaduna State has said that he may have no option but to consider locking down the state again if the people refuse to wear face masks and observe social distance.

El’rufai said the state was experiencing a rising rate of COVID-19 infections, warning that government is considering several options to manage the situation.

In a statement issued by the Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Mr Muyiwa Adekeye, the Governor conveyed his concerns at the 2021 budget signing ceremony which held at Government House on Wednesday.

He explained that the governor expressed concerns that infection rates were now hovering between 20% and 35%.

“If people refuse to wear masks and observe social distancing, we will consider locking down the state once again.
