AbdulRazaq To Present 2021 Budget Proposal Tommorow

Kwara State twenty twenty one budget proposal is to be presented to the State House of Assembly tomorrow by Governor Abdulraman Abdulrazaq

This was contained in a message from the Governor addressed to the Speaker, Engineer Yakubu Danlad-Salihu and read before his colleagues during plenary today.

Engineer Danladi-Salihu said the twenty twenty one budget estimate would be laid before the House tomorrow at noon preparatory to effective running of government aparatus next year inline with section one two one subsection one of the nineteen ninety nine constitution as amended.

Meanwhile, Kwara State House of Assembly wants the state government to direct the contractor handling Oke-Opin Township road in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state to go back to site and complete the project.

This followed consideration of the Report of House Committee on Works and Transport on a Petition titled” Petition to investigate the Abandoned Oke-Opin Township Road Construction” written by one Barrister Olasunkanmi Adeseko, presented by the member representing Ekiti constituency, Mr Gabriel Abolarin.

Mr Abolarin noted that the road construction awarded at the sum of two hundred and forty nine point three million naira by the immediate past Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed including fifty million naira bond received from a commercial bank without completing the project.

He said the sixty three percent completion of the road did not commensurate with the amount released for the project as the contractor under the verbal instructions of the Former Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya discontinued the Oke-Opin Township Road project through diversion of the fund meant for the project to another uncompleted road project in anotherpart of the state.

Reading the resolutions of the House, the speaker, Engineer Yakubu Danlad-Salihu said failure to complete the road project in Oke-Opin would might attract the attention of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission for further investigation.

The House also resolved that the former Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Aro Yahaya and the Contractor be liable for fifty million naira bond and issues surrounding the non completion of the road project.
