The Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu says the Ninth Legislature under his leadership will continue to work for sustenance of democratic governance to move Kwara forward.
Engr Danladi-Salihu who stated this in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sheu Abdulkadir Yusuf on the occasion of the democracy day congratulated Nigerians especially Kwarans for witnessing another significant anniversary in the history of the country.
He explained that since its inception, the Ninth legislature has been advancing the course and interest of the Kwara people through lawmaking, oversight function, public engagement and considering Bills and Motions that have a direct and immediate impact on ordinary citizens of the state.
The member representing Ilesha/Gwanara state constituency and the Speaker of the Ninth Legislature also appeal to Nigerians to continue to support and cooperate with the Federal and State Governments in their efforts to address the challenges facing the nation so that Kwara and Nigeria can move forward.
Right Honourable Danladi-Salihu reaffirmed the commitment of the State House of Assembly in working closely with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq who is poised to make Kwara a role model not just in the North Central Geopolitical Zone but in the entire country.
“I wish to congratulate all Nigerians especially the people of Kwara State as we mark another Democracy Day, the day is very special because we reflect on the efforts of our founding fathers in the fight to attain this democracy we are all enjoying today, we must therefore continue to make sure the labour of our heroes past does not go in vain”.
“We in the Ninth Assembly will continue to sustain democratic governance and give Kwarans the best in terms of law-making, oversight, public engagement as well as all that is needed to make a better society”
“I, therefore, appeal to all to please work and support the government in its efforts to ensure peace, security and sustainable development in our land”.
“On behalf of my colleagues in the Ninth Assembly, I wish you all happy democracy day”.
