The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Mai-Martaba Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has appointed popular Islamic Preacher, Sheik Suleiman Faruq Onikijipa as the new Grand Mufti of Ilorin.
The Emir announced the appointment, Thursday in Ilorin, Maxilensnews gathered.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari also confirms the appointment of the founder of Darulkitab Wa Sunnah College, Ilorin, Dr. AbdulKadir Oba-Solagberu, as the Sarkin Ubandoma of Ilorin.
With this appointment, the duos of Sheikh Onikijipa and Dr. Solagberu are expected to serve as advisers on Religious Affairs in the Emirate Council.
Others appointed are; Sheikh Imam Yakub Aliagan (Sarkin Mallami of Ilorin), the elder brother to the Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Alimi Abdulrazaq (Mutawalle of Ilorin), Waziri Yakubu Gobir (Dawaki of Ilorin) Alhaji Saka Onimago (Shetimma of Ilorin), Mallam Saliu Mustapha (Turaki of Ilorin) Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje (Tafida of Ilorin), Alhaji Kawu Agaka (Dan Iya of Ilorin)
